Published: Wed, 09/13/17

Dear ,

Capstone Investment became aware of a cybersecurity incident involving Equifax on Friday 9/8/2017. Equifax is a credit reporting agency that you may be familiar with, but is not a service provider to Capstone.

Below is an excerpt from the Equifax website describing what happened:

We identified a cybersecurity incident potentially impacting approximately 143 million U.S. consumers. Criminals exploited a U.S. website application vulnerability to gain access to certain files. We discovered the unauthorized access and acted immediately to stop the intrusion.

To find out if the security of your financial information has been affected by this incident, please go to: https://www.equifaxsecurity2017.com  Then click on the Potential Impact tab. Also at this site your will find an extensive list of questions and answers and possible actions you can take. If needed the direct phone to Equifax is: 866-447-7559.

Equifax is offering complimentary services including ongoing Monitoring, a Credit Report lock and Identity Theft Insurance.  There may be risks AND benefits to using this service, so we suggest reading all of the fine print before making a decision about how to proceed.  Please note information about the incident and Equifax’s response is evolving, so please visit their web site as needed.

If you have a TD Ameritrade account with Capstone Investment, we can request on your behalf that a greater level of security be added to your account(s) and will stay in place for 12 months.   If you wish to have the security feature added to your TD Ameritrade account please contact Bill Sigrist at 719-477-9883 Ext 801 or bill@capstoneinvest.com or just respond to this e-mail with the request.
