At the end of a year, I always feel a bit unraveled in my financial life and love the opportunity of a fresh start to check in with everything. I use the list below to address items annually. Use this LINK to access an expanded version.
- Check in with your net worth. Use your Blueleaf account to see balances of your accounts. Don’t forget to consider liabilities.
- Take a hard look at your liabilities. How can you pay some of those off?
- Create a spending plan! It is worth it and isn’t as bad as you think. Really its liberating and empowering. As me for help!
- Get real with your savings. Do you have an emergency fund? Could you increase the contributions to your retirement accounts?
- Review insurance coverage. Do you have enough or too much?
- Review (or create) an estate plan. Do you have a will? A trust? Have you looked at the beneficiaries on your accounts?
Perhaps you have done all of these and simply need to review and recalibrate. If improving or paying attention to your financial life is a goal for 2019 use this list to get you started. Remember, you aren’t in it alone. We are here to help figure out what you need and create a path to get there. What seems daunting to you, is what we do best.
